  • I park my car outside overnight and wanted an additional way to discourage rodents from getting near the engine wiring. This device was straightforward to mount, and I like that it switches off when the engine starts. It's a useful precaution to add alongside regular checks under the bonnet.

       Sound and Light, Working Together

Gnavex pairs frequency-shifting ultrasonic sound (9–65 kHz) with bright red and white strobe flashes. The constantly changing pitch and light make your engine bay an uncomfortable place for rodents to settle, while you get on with your day.

Protect Your Wiring Before Damage Starts

A parked car’s warm engine bay is an easy target for rodents. Chewed wiring and hidden nests can mean costly repairs. Gnavex works quietly under the bonnet/hood every time you park, helping keep your engine bay clean and your wiring intact.

Set It Once, It Runs Itself

Gnavex switches on automatically when you turn the engine off and rests when you start driving. There’s no switch to flip and nothing to remember: protection when parked, standby on the road.

      What Our Customers Say

      Excellent 4.8 / 5

      • Straightforward Installation

I was looking for something I could install without cutting into the car's wiring. The tie-band mounting made the setup much simpler than I expected. I also like the automatic on/off feature, since I don't have to remember to switch the device on every time I park the car.

      • Useful for Cars Parked Outdoors

My car spends most nights in an outdoor parking space, and I've been looking for a way to make the engine bay less inviting to mice. The combination of ultrasonic sound and flashing lights is an interesting approach. The display is handy for checking which mode is selected

      • Good for the Garage Too

I wanted a device that could potentially be useful in both my vehicle and the garage where I store tools. Having separate vehicle and indoor modes gives it more flexibility than a car-only product. The different power options are another plus because they provide choices for different setups

It emits frequency-shifting ultrasonic sound between 9 and 65 kHz together with flashing red and white LEDs. The changing sound and light make the engine bay an uncomfortable place for rodents to settle.

Gnavex runs only while you’re parked and switches to standby when you drive. If your car will sit unused for several weeks, we recommend switching to USB or battery power, or switching it off.

Yes. Gnavex can also run from a USB cable or from a battery (not included), which is handy for stored cars or indoor use.

Gnavex uses no poisons or chemicals. Don’t use it near pet rodents such as hamsters, guinea pigs or rabbits, as they can hear the same frequencies.

About 5 minutes. Mount the unit with the included tie bands, connect it to your car battery with the on-board power line, and select vehicle mode. No wire cutting is needed.

Press button 1 once for vehicle mode or twice for indoor mode. Each mode has 2 settings that you choose with button 2:

        • Vehicle mode: ultrasound + LED flash, or ultrasound + LED flash + alarm.
        • Indoor mode: ultrasound + LED flash + alarm, or variable ultrasound only.

Somewhere secure in the engine bay, away from moving parts, hot exhaust components and areas that take direct water spray. Keep the speaker facing open space.
